What is Splitser, and is it the same as WieBetaaltWat?
Yes. Splitser is called WieBetaaltWat in the Netherlands and Flanders, and it is an Amsterdam-based app for tracking group expenses.
The group is a list. Someone creates it with a name, an optional image and a currency, then adds people from their contacts, through an invitation link, or by name as anonymous participants who can claim the name later. Everyone on the list can add and view transactions, and the Balance tab shows each person’s balance. A step-by-step guide to using Splitser goes through the screens.
What does Splitser cost compared with EvenOut?
EvenOut shows no ads on any plan and has no payment fees, and Pro, for receipt scanning and the assistant, is its only paid part. Splitser’s support page says using the app is “almost entirely free”, and the costs it names belong to payments.
Paying through Splitser by iDEAL | Wero or Bancontact carries a €0.35 service fee per transaction, and linking a bank account costs €0.35 once. The account has to be Dutch or Belgian, and payments are capped at €950 paid and €2,500 received per 24 hours.
Say five roommates split €4,000 rent equally, €800 each, and one of them paid the whole bill. The other four owe that person €3,200, which is over the €2,500 receiving limit, so the fourth €800 payment waits a day or goes another way. Four payments at €0.35 each add €1.40 in service fees. In EvenOut the same four payments are recorded with no fee, because no money moves.
Splitser also sells Splitser Premium and Splitser Ad-free. Its release notes from November 2025 introduce Premium with CSV or PDF export and an ad-free experience. The US purchase list shows Splitser Premium at $1.99 and $8.99, Splitser Ad-free at $2.99 and Support Splitser purchases from $1.99 to $22.00 (October 2026), so check each billing period before you buy.
Can you undo a settlement?
In EvenOut you can: each payment is its own record, and a recorded payment can be deleted and restored later, as can an expense. Splitser’s Offset all balances archives all transactions, sets every balance to 0 and emails a payment request to each person who owes money, and its support page says a settlement cannot be reversed.

Frequently asked questions
How do you import a Splitwise group into Splitser?
Splitser's switch service has four steps. First, in Splitwise, create a CSV export of the group and save it. Second, log in to Splitser, or create an account first. Third, choose Start import, pick the CSV file, pick your name from the list and choose Create list. The data can take a few minutes to appear. Fourth, invite friends with an invitation link, and they choose their own name. EvenOut's free import starts from the same Splitwise spreadsheet.
Can you delete a Splitser list or remove a member?
Splitser's support page says a list cannot be deleted, only left, by swiping left on it in the list view or through the list settings. A member can be removed from the list settings, but only when their balance is 0. Closing an account also needs a balance of 0 on every list. In EvenOut the owner removes people, and a group can be left or deleted from the app.
Do you need a bank account to use Splitser?
Its support page presents linking as a choice. You are asked whether you wish to link a bank account right after you create an account, and the page ties linking to receiving money through the app with a Dutch or Belgian account. The app listing says payment requests can also be sent by WhatsApp, Messenger, SMS or email.
How do you set up a recurring expense in Splitser?
Tap the date field while entering an expense and look under the date picker for the recurrence setting. Choose how often it repeats, then choose whether and when the list is notified when it is added. To stop one, find any of its expenses, tap Change and use the date field. EvenOut's repeats run weekly, monthly or yearly and can be paused, resumed or stopped from the Repeating expenses screen.
