How do you sign in to Settle Up on the web?
Open settleup.app and choose one of the three sign-in options. As of October 2026, the web app offers Google, Apple and email, and the dialog gives its purpose in one line: “Sign in to allow for backup and synchronization of your groups.”
- Go to settleup.app.
- Choose Google, Apple or email in the sign-in dialog.
- Your groups are then backed up and synchronized to that account.
The dialog is about your groups, so the account you pick is the one that holds them. Choose an option you will still be able to reach in a year, such as an email address you keep.
What happened to Facebook login?
Facebook login has been deprecated. Settle Up’s migrate-account page puts it this way: “Facebook login has been deprecated but you won’t lose any data.” If you used Facebook before, the data is not lost, and the current options are Google, Apple and email. Do not count on a Facebook button being there.
What does a Settle Up account store?
The privacy policy lists your full name, your email, your profile pictures, your Settle Up data, and analytics and crash data. It defines your Settle Up data as transactions, members, groups and history of changes, and says the data is kept “Indefinitely, unless the service is shut down.” Where that data is stored is in the FAQ below.
For comparison, EvenOut shows people by name, photo and @username, and it never shows or sends another person’s email address. Each app’s own privacy page is the place to check what it holds before you move a group.
Who owns the service behind the sign-in?
Settle Up’s terms name Step Up Labs Inc., a company in Casper, WY, as the owner of the Settle Up apps, and the company’s own site lists Settle Up as its only product. It is the company behind the sign-in, so its privacy policy is the one to read before you create an account.
How do friends join or view a group?
You invite people by link or QR code. One listing says friends can view a group in a browser “without downloading anything”, and another says you can give people read-only access.
How do you delete a Settle Up account?
Deleting happens inside the app, and group owners have one extra step.
- Open My Profile.
- Choose “Delete Account”.
- If you own any groups, transfer ownership of each one to someone else or delete it. The account can only be removed once that is done.
What if you cannot sign in?
Work through these in order:
- Check the address and the developer. The web app is at settleup.app. Another app called Settle Up, from a developer named Crybaby, is a different product from Step Up Labs’ Settle Up, so a login problem there is not a Settle Up account problem.
- Pick a current option. Use Google, Apple or email, and not Facebook.
- Write to support. Settle Up’s support page offers email, so name the option you used and say what the screen showed.
What should you do next?
Once you are in, how to use Settle Up covers groups and splitting, and whether Settle Up is free lists its prices by channel.
If you are choosing between apps, EvenOut signs in with Google or email, and its free plan has no ads. You can delete an account in the app under Account, then “Delete account”, which asks you to confirm it is you. Splitwise alternatives that need no account compares the other options, and Splitwise on the web covers the same question for Splitwise.

How do I contact Settle Up about a login problem?
