Does Splittr show ads, and what does it cost?

EvenOut shows no ads on any plan, and Splittr’s listings say it contains ads. Expense splitting apps without ads compares what else is out there. Splittr’s release notes for version 2.16.0 (July 1, 2026) say banners and rewarded videos are gone for free users, though the occasional ad remains.

Splittr is free to start, and its US purchase list shows three in-app purchases: 1 Month $0.99, 1 Year $3.49 and Lifetime $10.99 (October 2026).

EvenOut’s free plan has no daily expense limit, and charts, search, repeating expenses and the Splitwise import are all free. Its Pro plan covers receipt scanning and the assistant, at $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year (US, as of August 2026), and is the only paid part.

What does EvenOut’s free plan do for a group that lasts?

EvenOut’s charts show where a group’s money went by category, person and month, and search works offline. Say rent is $1,150 a month: you save the first one and a monthly repeat adds the other 11 in the year without anyone typing them. Each later one is a normal expense with the same payer and split, and you can pause, resume or stop the repeat from the Repeating expenses screen.

Someone who is not on EvenOut can still be in the split. Add a guest by name, track their share from the first expense and invite them later to claim it. Splitwise alternatives when friends won’t sign up compares more apps on this point.

What does Splittr offer?

Splittr’s listing describes offline use, syncing with friends, all currencies, statistics, uneven splits and a smart settle-up that minimizes the number of payments, and version 2.17.0 added recurring expenses on July 15, 2026. Its site also says a brand-new version of Splittr is being built, so this list may change.

Which one fits?

Pick EvenOut when you want no ads, a free plan with no daily expense limit, or a group that lasts past one trip. Its charts by category, person and month are free, Pro scans a receipt and splits tax and tip in proportion to each person’s items, and the Splitwise import is free. EvenOut works offline too, and expense splitting apps that work offline compares others.

Pick Splittr for one trip where nobody wants to register, when you want a PDF or CSV out of the app, or when purchasers paid different amounts on one expense.

Frequently asked questions

What can you do in EvenOut without a connection?

You can add, edit, delete and restore expenses, record and delete payments, write comments and create groups and friends, and the changes sync when you are back online. Setting up or changing a repeat, uploading a photo, scanning a receipt, using the assistant, importing, sending invites and adding a guest need a connection. A banner reading 'N changes couldn't sync' with a Retry button shows when something is stuck.

How do repeating expenses work in EvenOut?

On the Add expense page, open Photo, repeat, pending or note, then choose Repeat and pick Weekly, Monthly or Yearly. The expense you save is the first one, and EvenOut adds each later one as a normal expense with the same payer and split, around 9:00 in your time zone. The setup shows a line such as 'Next one Nov 5'. There is no daily or custom interval and no end date, but you can pause, resume or stop a repeat from the Repeating expenses screen.

How does Splittr compare with Splitwise's free plan?

Splitwise's free plan allows up to 4 expenses a day, and its Pro plan lists charts, expense search and an ad-free experience (October 2026). Splittr sells three in-app purchases at $0.99, $3.49 and $10.99 in the US. EvenOut's free plan has no daily expense limit and includes search and charts.

Can a Splittr group move to EvenOut?

EvenOut's free import is built for Splitwise spreadsheets, so a Splittr export is not the route. Settle up in Splittr first, then create the group in EvenOut and add the people. Starting after a settle-up means nobody carries an old balance across.
